Welcome to Example Federation
Welcome to the East Kent Federation
A warm welcome to the East Kent Federation, joining us is a wonderful way to meet new people and make new friends.
We were formed in 1919 and we currently have 100 WIs with approximately 3600 members. The Federation stretches from the Isle of Sheppey in the north west to Romney Marsh, well known for smugglers, in the south. It is largely rural although there are an increasing number of WIs on the outskirts of, and within, the towns of our area. Our WIs hold regular monthly meetings and there are morning, afternoon and evening WIs to cater for the busy lifestyles of our members.
The Federation and WIs have exciting and varied programmes of events and activities suited to their members, not just cakes, bakes and preserves - although these are very important, but music, theatre visits, walking, special interest days and outings.
Public Affairs campaigns are supported by members and individual WIs are involved in community projects.
We publish our own newsletter 10 times a year, this is distributed to members in digital format but is printed for those who require it, it gives members up to date information on forthcoming events and activities.
East Kent Federation Office
The Federation office has recently relocated to a business park on the outskirts of Canterbury with plenty of parking for visitors and on a good bus route. Visitors are always welcome at the office and the Federation staff are on hand and happy to answer any questions
