About Us

At Birchington on Sea WI (Morning) group we aim to work together to provide friendship and light-hearted education for any woman eligible to join. 

Our main meeting takes place on the first Tuesday of the month from 10-12, at Church House, Kent Gardens CT7 9RS. The hall is easy to access and and there is a large car park for visitors.

Our meetings are friendly and fun, usually including a speaker or learning activity and plenty of tea, coffee and cake. We also hold an annual competition to win the BoSWI cup. The only month when we don't meet at the hall on the first Tuesday is August, when we host an outside social event, as well as a coach trip.

Our members have:

A walking group which meets on the 2nd Tuesday.

A coffee morning every third Tuesday of the month (except August) from 10.00-11.45, at The Powell in the Square. 

A cinema group (which uses our local independent cinema, The Carlton)

A very friendly combined craft group, Yarn Over Yarn and Needlework and Beyond, which meets on the second Wednesday of every month (please contact the secretary for further information).

Our private members’ Facebook group is for full members and we also have a public Facebook group for anyone who has interest in being part of our community, sharing in our news and joining in with any events we are running. You can request to join here(www.facebook.com/groups/731011374731809/).

We currently have a short waiting list but this is subject to change and, when there is space, new members may join at any time in the year - if you'd like to see if this is the group for you, you are welcome to come along to see what our meetings are like.
